The Oath - Karintha Wheaton

Screen Shot 2014-11-11 at 12.58.37 AMI swore an oath to my country For freedom, for justice, for liberty

I walk proudly, medals gleaming

Away at war but of home dreaming

While still fighting the enemies that are scheming

I'm not here to boast

Just assuring you your military will do the most

There may come a day

When my family members say

You've taken my loved one away

Lord what do I do now

I must go on but how

Lord, comfort them and remind them I took a vow

No matter the war

The risk is the same and so is the chore

We take THE OATH because our country we adore

Honor, Duty, and Integrity

We wear so that all may have liberty
